Strategy Analytics conducted a benchmark user study of the MMI in the 2015 Audi TT, with its novel single-screen display behind the steering wheel. First-time users found the instrument cluster display visually appealing. However, the control-display relationship was difficult and frustrating to master, as it was initially unclear how input from each modality affected the menu selection. This directly led to difficulties in completing simple navigation and phone calling tasks. An unintuitive menu structure led to problems playing media from a paired device, while users praised the easy and satisfying phone pairing and radio functionality.
