Smartphone and Tablet GPU Market Share 2014: Qualcomm, ARM and Imagination Grab Top 3 GPU Spots

The global smartphone and tablet GPU market registered an impressive 30 percent shipment growth in 2014 compared to 2013. For the first time on an annual basis Qualcomm grabbed the top GPU spot in 2014 with the help of strong shipments of Snapdragon processors, which integrate Qualcomm’s in-house Adreno-branded GPUs. ARM’s Mali GPU-based chip shipments registered significant growth in 2014 and helped ARM to take the number two spot. Imagination saw its ranking dropped to number three in 2014 from number one in 2013 in the smartphone & tablet GPU market.
