Innovative Camera Features Required to Motivate Change

Boston, MA – March 22, 2017 – As consumers have continued to replace their dedicated digital cameras with mobile cameras due to convenience and comparable quality, the camera on a smartphone holds high importance and is now considered to be one of the most prioritized features. A recent study from the User Experience Strategies (UXS) Service at Strategy Analytics (www.strategyanalytics.com) has explored avid mobile camera users’ behaviors, motivations and preferences. Based on their current device, image quality and clarity are most important to this subset of users.

Surveying consumers in the US, Strategy Analytics has found that image quality and clarity were also the main motivators behind users keeping their current camera phone. Moreover, features such as those that specifically aid the capture of photos with people and scenery, a good selection of filters and easily accessible editing functionality, were highly desired by avid mobile camera users, in addition to a reliable wide angle lens to capture selfies.
