Customizable Mobile Contactless Payments Forecast 2004-2017

During 2011 mobile contactless payment adoption and usage remained dominated by Japan and Korea. However, Strategy Analytics predicts the number of users of mobile contactless payment to rise from 44.5 million at the end of 2012 to 158 million by 2017, leading to over $53 billion in transactions handled by mobile contactless payments. This will be enabled by the rising penetration of NFC enabled handsets with mobile wallet capabilities, and increasing merchant acceptance of contactless payments.
