Global Business Tablet Shipment Forecast: Q3 2013 Update

Tablet sales to business users, either through corporate-liable purchases or BYOD programs, is expected to grow at a 30% CAGR on average annually between 2012 and 2017. Volumes to enterprise users are being driven by strong demand for touchscreens computers, decreasing wholesale ASPs, proliferating suppliers and distribution channels as well as multiple price points from an expanding line of form factors and platforms. The BYOD model continues to meet less resistance in North America than any other region and is expected to account for as much as 40% of the global BYOD tablet volume and nearly one-third of the region’s volume. This forecast is developed alongside Strategy Analytics’ quarterly tracking of corporate-liable and personal-liable tablet sales. It delivers our best expectation for how these two business-focused segments are likely to progress regionally over the next five years.
