The apps strategy of some of the top globally recognized auto manufacturers are profiled in this report – Ford Motor Company, General Motors, BMW Group, Daimler AG, Nissan, and Toyota. We have found that while these companies have been very active in the apps space, the apps have failed to resonate with consumers. The industry could do more to help consumers find the relevant apps in the first place, and the focus on iOS risks alienating a large section of its customer base.
