Streaming Media and Instant Messaging Strongest Increases in Mobile Service Usage

In the US and Western Europe, Web Browsing, Email, and Mobile Search continue to be the data services that the highest proportion of mobile device owners report using at least once per week. However, despite an overall lower reported frequency of use of mobile services, Western Europe experienced a greater overall increase across more services over the past two years than in the US. With the growing adoption of both entry tier and premium tier smartphones in the US, streaming of media has experienced the greatest increases over the past two years. In Western Europe, strong increases in frequency of use occur in services ranging from social and instant messaging to content search and discovery.
