Western European advertising revenues reached $110 billion in 2014, up 3.3 % YoY. By year-end 2018, advertising revenues are expected to total over $125 billion, a 5-year CAGR of 3.3%. Traditional advertising accounted for 68% of the region’s advertising spend totaling $74.5 billion in 2014, down 0.3% YoY. TV advertising surpassed print advertising for the first time in 2014, accounting for 42% of traditional media spend. Digital advertising accounted for 32% of total ad spend in Western Europe, surpassing $35 billion, up 12% YoY. By year-end 2018, digital advertising will grow to 39% of total advertising with revenue of over $48 billion, a CAGR of 8% between 2014 and 2018.
