Broadband service providers in the US and Canada had another strong year in 2014, despite high penetration of broadband services in both countries. In the US, the tracked operators added 3.2 million new subscribers during the year, while tracked Canadian operators added 235,000 subscribers. High speed services continue to rollout across the region, as cable operators and Telcos fight for differentiation and market share. Many cable operators in the US are marketing new Gigabit services, and the Telcos are using FTTx to remain competitive with similar speed offers.
