With intensifying competition between auto makers, headlight design is increasingly moving towards the use of Light Emitting Diodes and matrix LED modules.  This is to enhance aesthetic design, to reduce power consumption and to bring in new functionality, such as adaptive beam forming.  This report updates an earlier one published in 2013 that indicated nascent demand for LED headlights.
