Pine-derived chemicals are chemicals derived from pine tree. Generally, they include tall oil fatty acid (TOFA), tall oil rosin (TOR), gum turpentine (GT), gum rosin (GR) and others (sterols, pitch, CST and its derivatives). Pine-derived chemicals are derived from the distillation of oleoresin or carbonization of wood. In 2016, Europe provided 471.69 K MT pine-derived chemicals and Finland is the largest region with a production share of 23.28%. Germany consumption is about 109.32 K MT, keeping a share of 23.18% in 2016.
