Traditional command and control speech recognition systems still suffer from low usage and satisfaction among consumers. Less than half of consumers who have speech recognition capabilities in their vehicle use it at least once per week. Accuracy, ease of use, and time to complete tasks are the major sources of dissatisfaction. Touchscreens also have significant room for improvement, as touchscreen owners were least satisfied with the amount of fingerprint smudging as well as overall ease of use.
