The large reduction in LED investment by the Chinese government is continuing to ripple through the optoelectronic equipment segment as lower levels of backlog fuel much lower revenue. Leading equipment manufactures AIXTRON and Veeco Instruments reported significant revenue declines. The photovoltaic and solar segments continue to experience choppy performance, as pockets of demand exist alongside manufacturers scaling back their efforts.
