Samsung Becomes World's Largest Handset Vendor by Revenue

We estimate Samsung became the world's largest handset vendor by revenue in the second quarter of 2012. Fueled by strong volumes for its Galaxy portfolio and rising wholesale prices, the South Korean giant has risen to the top of the mobile phone market. However, with Apple and its rumored new iPhone likely to have a stellar Q4, Samsung’s reign as revenue leader will be short-lived.
