Fuel economy for commercial vehicles and the role of telematics

Fuel represents a major operating cost for fleets but fuel economy and greenhouse gas regulations around the world have scarcely begun to impact heavier vehicles used by fleets. There has however been a partial awakening around a number of technologies offering fuel consumption benefits, including telematics. This report examines the regulatory environment and the debate around fuel-reducing technologies and also analyses the contribution that telematics can make based on measured results.
