Q3 '12: LG: LTE Superphones Elevate Margins

LG shipped 14 million handsets worldwide in Q3 2012. While LG's LTE superphone shipments remain strong, LG also took efforts to improve its low- to mid-tier 3G smartphone space to compete against Samsung and the low-cost Chinese vendors in this segment. It has been a topsy-turvy ride for the Korean vendor but continued investment and aggression in the high-value & high-growth LTE space have started to pay dividends, maintaining positive profits and mindshare.
