VENDOR SHARE: Global Handset Market by Technology: Q3 2012

Global legitimate handset shipments registered a modest annual growth rate in Q3 2012. The quarter witnessed a surge of 3G UMTS sub-segment volumes which recorded impressive 22% annual growth mainly contributed by the growing 3G handset volumes from Samsung, Huawei, ZTE and Sony. LTE volumes also surged nearly twenty times making it the fastest growing sub-segment driven by markets such as USA, Korea and Japan by Samsung, Apple and LG.
