(1). The demand for fertilizers will improve in Brazil in 2012/13 owing to the increasing planting area.

(2). According to the latest statistics from Secex, Brazil's total export volume of orange juice is expected to decrease significantly in 2012 due mainly to falling imports by the US and the EU.

(3). GM seed planting area and production in Chile will hit a record owing to strong export demand caused by the drought in the northern hemisphere.

(4). On Nov. 5, 2012, ANVISA officially announced that pesticide aldicarb has been banned in the Brazilian market.
