GaAs Device Vendor Market Share 2011/2012: North America

In 2011, the GaAs device industry grew by 6% and closed the year with record revenues of nearly $5.2 billion. An exploding rate of data consumption, more GaAs content in handsets resulting from multiple bands and standards and growing penetration of smartphones continued to be the drivers for the market. While these trends will continue, we anticipate slowing smartphone penetration rates and an uncertain economy will limit growth in the GaAs market to the 2- 4% range.
