When it comes to purchasing a new phone, ease of use, long battery life and being from a trusted manufacturer continue to be in the top five purchase priorities for respondents both in the US and Western Europe. In both regions, the number of respondents who will be looking for the best phone for free and cheapest phone available for their next mobile phone has increased the most since 2011. The ability to download applications is of the highest priorities for premium smartphone owners in both regions, while LTE is also important for existing smartphone owners. Both smartphone intenders and rejecters place a stronger emphasis on ease of use than existing smartphone owners.
