Smartphone Multi-Core Apps Processor Market Share: Samsung Maintains Leads with 53 Percent Volume Share in 2012

Smartphone multi-core processors proliferated in 2012, thanks to strong traction for dual and quad-core processors. Strategy Analytics estimates that multi-core processor shipments more than tripled in 2012 compared to 2011. Samsung led the multi-core smartphone applications processor market with 53 percent unit shipment share in 2012, followed by Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, ST-Ericsson and NVIDIA.
