Strategy Analytics surveyed consumers in the US and Western Europe regarding their interest in having wireless charging solutions in their vehicle. Interest was higher in the US and tended to be higher among females. Younger age groups also expressed greater interest. Barriers to adoption of wireless charging include consumer interest in accessing content from their smartphone while driving, which is best achieved through USB ports, particularly when considering access to apps in connected infotainment systems.
